Child Care at Dharma Field
Child care is now provided during many of the Sunday talks in our lower-level classroom. There is no cost and no need to register. Currently, the children range from one to ten years old.
No programming is involved; it's simply a loving environment where children can play and interact with others. There are books, toys, and activities to keep children entertained—and for adults, the talk is broadcast into the classroom.
Care is provided by a parent volunteer, who is normally assisted by a second volunteer from the Dharma Field community. (If there are only a few children on a given Sunday, the assistant may go upstairs to hear the talk.)
Since child care is not offered every Sunday, please check our online calendar, or the classroom bulletin board for information on specific dates, or call Dharma Field.
Child care on Sunday mornings is made possible by the volunteerism of families participating in the program and supported by volunteers in the Dharma Field community. We are currently looking for more volunteers. If you'd like to help, please sign up on the classroom bulletin board. Each Sunday that you volunteer, you will receive a CD of that Sunday's talk at no charge.
Volunteers and participating families should arrive by 9:50 a.m., so everyone can get acquainted before the talk begins. Parents should bring their own diapers, sippy cups (just water please, no juice or milk), and any other necessities. Parents whose children are being cared for during the talk may be asked to come downstairs in the event of a sick child or a needed diaper change.
