TENSHIN REB ANDERSON was ordained by Shunryu Suzuki Roshi at San Francisco Zen Center in 1970. After serving as abbot there from 1986 to 1995, he became Senior Dharma Teacher. He is involved with overseeing practice at San Francisco Zen Center’s three locations. In addition to offering Zen training, he leads practice periods with intensive focus on the everyday practice of meditation, work and study. He is particularly interested in Buddhist psychology and the fundamental intimacy of the practice of seated meditation with all aspects of our lives. He is the author of Warm Smiles from Cold Mountain and Being Upright.
