MARY SULLIVAN was first drawn to Buddhism in 1993 after hearing a talk on the transformation of negative emotions by a Tibetan teacher. She began serious study after taking her first course with Steve Hagen in the fall of 1993 and has been studying with him since that time. She served as the first Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Dharma Field, and in April, 2000, she received lay ordination from Steve Hagen in preparation for becoming an instructor at Dharma Field. She has been an instructor of meditation in the Zen tradition at the University of Minnesota's Boynton Health Service since January, 1997, and currently works as a neuropsychologist in private practice.
