Everydayness: Living Zen
Mondays, Feb 24-Mar 30, 7:45-8:45 pm
Zen is a matter of everdayness. It is not about transcendence or escaping the difficulties of our lives. Rather, it is to see those difficulties for what they actually are and to fully live them. As we know, that is not always easy. But the practice of Zen is simply to step forward into our lives, whether we like it or not. It is freedom.
In this course, we will examine those aspects of our lives that most occupy us—our relationships, our jobs, the world we live in and our responses to it. In doing so, we will look at the everydayness of Zen, how each moment, as challenging as it might appear to us (perhaps especially when it appears challenging), is an opportunity to practice Zen and realize the richness of life.
