This course is a study of two foundational Zen texts—“Trusting the Heartmind” ("Hsin Hsin Ming") and “The Merging of Difference and Unity” ("Ts’an T’ung Ch’i"). These texts draw our attention to actual experience and inspire us to place our trust and energy there. They direct us to live in immediacy rather than, as is our wont, out of utter abstraction—that is, out of our time-bound, fabricated mental constructs of thought or belief.
