Wednesday Evenings
Wednesday offerings are varied in topic and frequency. At times Dharma Field will offer a weekly study group on Zen texts, and at other times we will have a string of talks by students and teachers. Keep an eye on our calendar for exact details on content and scheduling.

- Annie Hammang - Mar 25

April 8: Precept CeremonyOn Wednesday, April 8, at 7 p.m., Dharma Field will be holding its annual Precepts Ceremony. In the ceremony, sangha members who have been engaged in meditation practice and foundational studies at Dharma Field over the past seven months or longer will vow to formally take up Buddhist practice by receiving the precepts as they recite them with the rest of the sangha. Please attend the ceremony and support the preceptees’ commitment to follow the Way as, with their vows, they support your commitment to do the same. We will celebrate in the classroom afterwards.
April 15: No evening programming. Two evening sittings will be offered instead of one.
April 22 and onward: The Hidden Lamp, 7:45pm
On April 22, we will return to our open-ended series of discussions on teachings from the book The Hidden Lamp: Stories from Twenty-Five Centuries of Awakened Women, a collection of one hundred koans and stories about or by Buddhist women from the time of the Buddha to the present. The book also includes insightful commentary by respected, contemporary women Buddhist teachers. The stories and commentary are fresh and accessible, resonating with the concerns of twenty-first century American Zen practitioners and curious newcomers. Discussions will be led by Steve Matuszak and are free and open to the public. You do not need to have attended previous sessions to participate. Available on Zoom.
